The City Bikes Independence Day Triathlon at Tradewinds THIS SUNDAY, JULY 2nd! Thanks for registering! This is to remind you of important information that you need to know before the event.

Limited packet pickup will also be available race morning at the event site from 5:30-6:30 a.m.

Bike check-in is race morning from 5:30am-6:45am.

Other Important Items to Remember

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering at races is FUN! You can also earn discounts and free races! We need volunteers for the upcoming Tradewinds race on July 2nd. Volunteers are needed for:

Setup on Saturday 8am-10am (often we finish by 9am) - earn 25% off your next race*
Race Day Packet Pickup 5am-7am - earn 25% off your next race*
Waterstations and Finish Line 6:30am-9am - earn 30% off your next race*
Cleanup 9am-11am (probably will finish by 10:30am) - earn 25% off your next race*

*Discounts are not valid for the Miami Man Triathlon.

If you are racing, please bring someone to volunteer and they can earn credits for YOU! Racers can also help at setup and/or before and after the race and earn credits as well.

Please note that discounts are for a future race, not the one volunteered at, as you have to volunteer to earn the credit first. The only exception is that if you volunteer for the setup on Saturday we can immediately issue you the discount to register for Sunday's race.

Please help! The races cannot happen without volunteers! This is your chance to give back to the sport.

PARKING

The event will take place at the far southern end of Tradewinds Park at the Fritillary Shelter, so please enter the south entrance. Use the directions link below but follow the parking arrow to the coned off area for parking on race morning:

DROPPING OUT

If you cannot finish the race for any reason, please come to the finish line and let us know and return your chip. This way we know that you are OK and don’t send a search crew out to find you.

WATER STATIONS

Aid stations will be located approximately every ¾ mile throughout the run course. There will be no aid station on the bike course.

SWIM COURSE

The swim is a super safe lake swim with no waves or current.

BIKE COURSE

The bike course is a 2 lap course completely inside the park and closed off to all vehicular traffic. This is another reason the course is perfect for first-timers! Be sure to do both laps so you aren’t disqualified! *Mini Triathlon is only 1 lap.

After the 1st lap, look for the lap/finish sign directing you into a parking lot to start your 2nd lap. This prevents everyone from having to make a tight u-turn.

Note that the Aquabike ends once you enter transition after the bike. You may continue and go through the finish chute to get your medal, but the clock will have stopped.

RUN COURSE

The run course is a 2 lap run through the park on the paved walking paths. Be sure to do both laps or you will be disqualified! *Mini Triathlon is only 1 lap.

Duathlon (run #1) - All duathletes will start at 7:00 a.m. in the parking lot between the transition and packet pickup areas. The first run will be ¾ of a mile

RESTROOMS
There is a permanent restroom facility right next to the transition area. Additionally, there will be some port-o-johns near the shelter.

BODY MARKING

We give out body marking tattoos to identify you when you don’t have your race number. You will get 3 individual numbers. Please apply them with a wet washcloth to your left shoulder facing out to the side.
